A 26-year-old TikTok influencer became the latest victim in France''s escalating crypto-linked kidnapping trend. Abducted in Juvisy-sur-Orge, the victim was forced into a stolen vehicle by four assailants, beaten, and tortured for a €50,000 cryptocurrency ransom. The attackers assumed his social media prominence—40,000 followers—guaranteed wealth.

The scheme collapsed when the kidnappers discovered his wallet was nearly empty. With no ransom to collect, they released him. French authorities transferred the case to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division, highlighting a surge in crypto-related abductions. Weeks earlier, police rescued the father of a prominent crypto investor in a similar incident.
